Annual events include:

• Open Forum - a series of regular Q&A sessions open to all members of staff. Here, staff can join senior officers to hear about some of the major issues facing the University and higher education
• Events hosted by the Vice-Chancellor: a dinner to welcome new professors to Oxford, a reception to celebrate the recent honouring of University academics by Her Majesty The Queen and to congratulate those honoured by learned societies, and a Festive reception for invited members of the Oxford community

Other ad-hoc previous events have included:

• Women’s History: The Future, Roundtable Discussion followed by Address by Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton. A panel of five leading historians of women, gender and sexuality set out their vision of what women’s history should be doing in the next thirty years. Directly following the discussion was an Address by Hillary Rodham Clinton, 67th U.S. Secretary of State. These events were part of the launch of the Hillary Rodham Clinton Chair of Women’s History.
• Curiosity Carnival – part of European Researchers’ Night, Curiosity Carnival was a large-scale University wide event that gave the public a chance to find out what research at Oxford is really all about, meet researchers, ask questions and discover how research affects and changes all our lives
• A celebration of the humanities – a dinner to celebrate a £150 million foundational gift to create the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities
• Communications Community Conference – a half-day interactive event enabling the University communications network to engage with one another
